僕は、高校3年生の秋に1回だけ「新潟大学模試」を受けました。代ゼミ主催の模試で、富山中央予備校で受験しました。
僕は進研模試ではいつも新潟大学はA判定でした。進研模試の「記述模試」と「マーク模試」のドッキング判定では、小学校Bコースを志望している受験生の中で1位を2回とったことがあり、「新潟は大丈夫だろう」と思っていました。
しかし、秋に受けた「新潟大学模試」ではC判定でした。英語と数学だけの模試でした。当時の新潟大学教育学部の入試科目はセンター試験は1科目150点満点×5科目で750点満点。
個別試験（2次試験）では英語が300点満点，数学が300点満点で合計600点満点。つまりセンター＋2次試験で1350点満点での入試でした。
新潟大学模試では、英語300点満点，数学300点満点で合計600点満点での判定でした。C判定をもらって初めてあせりました。高校3年生の生徒さんは（浪人生もそうですが）これから夏休みに入るにあたって、夏休み中に1度「○○大学模試」を受験されることをお勧めします。学校では受験できないと思うので予備校のホームページを見てみたり、友達に聞いてみたりしてみるのも良いかと思います。
もし自分の行きたい大学の模試がなければ、予備校主催の模試を夏休み中に1度受験してみるのも良いかもしれません。模試の良いところは、合否判定が出ることも良いのですが、問題がすごく練られていて、模試の問題がそのまま入試対策になるところです。
模試の問題を必ず復習して、わからない問題があったらできるようになってほしいと思います。
高校入試と異なり、大学入試はその大学独自の問題が出題されます。赤本などで過去問を調べると、傾向がわかります。
偏差値で大学を決めるのも良いとは思いますが、一番大切なのは自分がどの大学の入試問題に「あいしょうが良いのか」を知ることです。
例えば、新潟大学の場合、英語の問題は長文の下線部分の和訳と指示語の説明を書く問題がずっと変わらず出題されています。和訳が得意な生徒さんには新潟大学の問題はあいしょうが良いと思います。いろんな大学の過去問を実際に解いてみて、これから先、どのようなことを勉強していけばいいのかを知ることが大切だと思います。
夏休みが終わるころまでには志望校の過去問を3年分くらいでいいので実際に時間をはかって解いてみてください。
また、国公立大学を受験するのか、私立大学を受験するのかを決断することも大切になってきます。私立の場合は3教科のみ勉強すればいいので、国公立大学よりも対策はたてやすいはずです。3年生にとっては共通テストまであと約7か月。今のうちに基礎・基本事項を各教科においてマスターしていってください。
